John just won 1st prize in Neruda's 101 yr. Praise poems... with World Poetry Society 2005. Vancouver, BC. Twice - winner A Peoples' Poet Award and countless other awards over the years. He is a busy writer with talent -- probably the most published nationally and internationally of current Canadian poets-- and not near retirement! Remarkably-- also a well liked guy! |

Dear Donna
Thank you for notifying me as to the wonderful and thrilling news that I have received the
CPA Life Member Award 2005. I am most gratified by the news. What an honour.
Unfortunately, (or fortunately because I am away for the blessed event of my elder son's
wedding in Korea), I am gone for most of the month of August and will be unable to attend
the Award Ceremony.
As far as I know, I am still scheduled to be on tour in the Atlantic provinces in the first week
of September, though I haven't heard much recently about the plans for that tour.
As I've already stated, I am absolutely thrilled. I thank everyone who made the award
possible. I humbly accept the honour.
My new book, Poems for the Pornographer's Daughter is just out from Black Moss press. I'm
off to France next Monday, July 245h to read in Paris at Shakespeare and Co. along with a few
other Black Moss authors.
